I was born a slave
The story of the Fülöp brothers begins in 1999, when Levente was a child and became a slave in Atyhá.
Their parents were alcoholics and sent their seven siblings to an orphanage, but they became “free” in their master’s house. Through the fate of Levente, and later his brother Csaba, we learn about the history of modern-day slavery, which is tied to a place and cannot be developed from it.
A film with a balladic conciseness, about struggle, hope and faith – on the example of young people whose fate, despite being hopeful, is constantly threatening with failure and tragedy.
This story was arranged almost into a ballad by life, which ultimately tells the story of 25 years of struggle and dreams, now definitively through the fate of Levente, although his search for a way is not over yet, just like his struggle is not.
The film takes place in Central Europe, in the Székely Salt Country of Transylvania, but it could take place anywhere in the world.
