Szikla - Lángok ölelésében

Short Documentary Film and Documentary Series | 50 min

The film depicts the trials and tribulations of the inhabitants of Buda Castle during the siege of 1944-45, during the Rákosi regime, during the 1956 revolution, and until the early sixties. It commemorates a heroically working doctor who treated the wounded in the Rock Hospital despite the terrible conditions, who was the respected and beloved doctor of the castle residents, and who was condemned for this “deed” even after ’45 and ’56. There are still those among the residents of Buda Castle who were part of these events, who knew and respected the doctor who was always loyal to medicine and possessed deep human qualities. From the stories of the descendants, we can also learn about the role of the Rock Hospital between 1944 and 1962. The film is a wake-up call, a requiem for all the victims.
