VÁRDAI – non SOLO CELLO
documentary film | 78 min.
István Várdai is one of the most sought-after cellists of our time. In addition to his solo career, he is the artistic director of the Ferenc Liszt Chamber Orchestra, a professor at the Vienna Academy of Music, holds master classes worldwide, and is only in his thirties. By looking into his life, we can see what comes with having a unique talent. Is talent a blessing, or does it make our lives more difficult, especially when combined with ambition and a sense of mission? In the film, which was shot over four years, we also see him working with the greats of classical music, while also getting close to people.
