The cultural policy before the change of regime liked to use the term “clerical”, which was considered a derogatory term, in relation to an artist. This meant that they did not talk about him, they did not mention him anywhere. In this way, they tried to make it seem as if the given artist and his oeuvre had never existed. The same thing happened with József Samodai, who painted more than 30 churches in Győr-Moson-Sopron county.
