Egy százalék indián

feature film | 82 min

One Percent Indian delves into themes of identity, inherited behavioral patterns, chauvinism, feminism, and modern gender roles. The story follows three middle-aged couples who reunite on the occasion of a funeral. After bidding farewell to their mutual childhood friend, Rajmund, Árpi, and Andris continue the memorial at home with their wives.

As the heavy drinking progresses, tensions rise—not only are the women uncomfortable, but the men also begin to grow weary of one another. It becomes clear that their bond is not based on shared values but merely on a long-standing acquaintance. As time passes during the conflict-laden gathering, the original reason for their reunion fades into insignificance. Instead, unresolved questions, doubts, and tensions about the past, present, and future come to the forefront. Rather than clarity, the story offers uncertainty and, instead of answers, even more questions.
