Duranda
Short Documentary Film and Documentary Series | 25 min
Currently, 2.5-3 million people in Hungary are considered poor, with 5 percent of the population living in extreme poverty. Many of them live in gypsy settlements like Duranda, near the city center of Gyöngyös. The settlement is notorious for its garbage, rats, and drug addicts. Bori Kerekes’ film follows the struggle of social worker Dávid Karácsony for the children living there over the course of a day.
