Háztűznéző
short documentary film | 24 min.
Háztűznéző is a short, personal documentary in which the director introduces his new partner to his completely dysfunctional family, while the camera invites the viewer to a strange family lunch. The story begins with the director starting to organize a meeting scheduled for the end of the month and preparing his family to meet his Muslim friend who was born in India. The conversations present the family’s strange relationship system, as well as its past full of conflicts and traumas. As the “new man in the house” visits, the colorful and unusual reactions of the characters make the gathering even more surreal. Háztűznéző is a uniquely personal, honest work that bravely confronts questions and answers that would be terrifying to face without humor.
