Gábor misses his friends. He and his girlfriend, Eszter, are moving back home from abroad and are hosting their high school classmates and their partners. Krisztián arrives with his new girlfriend, Luca. The boy talks about his work, the girl keeps a polite distance. The evening is about to become boring when Kutas, to everyone’s surprise, arrives without his girlfriend, Petra. He explains that he broke up with the girl, the others feign sympathy, then express their sincere relief. The bell rings and Kutas watches with a satisfied half-smile as the others realize that they have been the victims of a bad joke, their true feelings have been exposed, Petra is standing at the door.
During dinner, Petra suspects that something is wrong, asks intrusive questions to the other guests, and then unexpectedly announces that Kutas will propose to her in the summer. This comes as a surprise to the boy, he doesn’t understand why the others need to know about this, the situation escalates into a fight and then a breakup, Petra storms off, Kutas escapes to drink.
There is a photograph on the dresser: it depicts two silhouetted figures waiting for the sunrise on the waterfront. Gábor explains to Luca that Kutas and Krisz are in the picture, he took it during the last summer of high school after a crazy evening. However, the boys clearly remember that they couldn’t have been there then, and Eszter confirms them: Gábor has a delusion, in his loneliness his memories and dreams have blurred into an illusion.
The guests leave, Gábor clears up the ruins of the evening, his gaze lingering on the photo. The next day, Eszter passes by the dresser while preparing for breakfast, not noticing that the photo is now resting face down.
