Once Upon a Mikveh delves into the lost world of Košice Jewry: through the story of a sacred bath, it evokes the community’s past, destruction, and hope for its rebirth. With the help of new voices and uncovered historical traces, the film shows how water becomes a boundary between past and future, loss and renewal – and how a ruined mikveh can regain a role in the space of faith, connection, and remembrance.
