It all started when I told a friend a joke that Kim Kardashian has so much synthetic material that she shouldn’t be buried in the ground. Then I remembered how peaceful it would be if humans disintegrated and became one with nature again.

The post-Anthropocene worldview does not place humans at the center of the world, does not elevate them, but considers them a component of the universe, just like bacteria. In my essay film, I had them explore what connects me to mountains, salt water, and single-celled organisms. And I thought about the peace that eight billion people are not floating alone in nothingness, but that we are part of a greater whole at the cellular level.
