The film gives an insight into the lives of six friends, their recollections, narrations, and archival and animated inserts make the film vivid. We follow their life story from their happy youth, when Yugoslavia was still a large and strong country under Tito’s leadership. They tell from their own perspective how they experienced the disintegration of the country and the years during the Yugoslav wars, with particular emphasis on the 1999 NATO bombing of Serbia. The film’s director is the son of one of the characters, which makes the story even more personal and relatable.
