Filmed over a period of 15 years, I Saw a Dream follows the journey of Nasmi, who was born in Germany to a Roma refugee family and then, after being forcibly resettled, ends up in a dilapidated camp for internally displaced persons in Kosovo. Without electricity, clean water and security, she loses her identity and future. The film uses quiet observation to show the pain of separation and the sustaining power of family bonds.
