László Dormán is a living legend of Hungarian photography and journalism in the South. The documentary Photo: László Dormán not only recalls a rich career, but also presents in a personal voice the artist who preserved the history and everyday life of the Hungarians in the South through his camera. During his six-decade career, he witnessed and recorded many important events in the South, and he also became known for his portraits, jazz photos and sensitive socio-photos. From 1968, he worked as a photojournalist and journalist for Képes Ifjúság for twenty years, and then continued his career at Újvidéki Rádio, where he edited jazz programs. In 1993, he moved to Hungary with his family and worked for Hungarian Rádió until 2011. His work has been recognized with numerous prestigious awards, including the Knight’s Cross of the Hungarian Order of Merit, the Hungarian Tree of Life Award, and recognition from the Hungarian Academy of Arts.
