My Forest is an unusual portrait of the writer Péter Nádas. In the film, a disciplined, reflective person talks about some phenomena of life that are important to all of us, such as ecological disaster, suicide, love and culture. His monologue is accompanied by associative images of the Gomboszeg landscape, his home, his garden, the nearby forest and wildlife – with music inspired by New York avant-garde artist Laurie Anderson. It is both a nature film and a literary portrait, which in a particularly uncertain period reveals the firm message of a profound thinker free from despair and aggression.
