The skeletons of the factories located on the Népsziget are now only a reminder that this landscape was once the prime industrial area of ​​Budapest and the Danube. The rust belt changes dynamically and takes on a new face every year. Change is inevitable, but for whose benefit is the island transformed? And what effect does the transformation have on the people living there or connected there? ‘Songs from the Island of the People’ is a visual study and musical panorama with absurdist elements, which presents the changes taking place on the island from the point of view of a homeless islander.
